I know we should be jumping into 2018 full steam ahead, but honestly, I just want to linger a few more days in the “down time”. The academic calendar affords us a few more days of family time and we’re grateful. A few more nights of talking about life until 2 am, whipping up family recipes of comfort food, watching the Eagles documentary, wearing pajamas till noon, diving into another Netflix series, cleaning up computer files while watching football, and preparing for our son’s wedding later this year. Tomorrow marks our 30th wedding anniversary and we wonder where the time has gone. 2018 begins with a great measure of gratitude – and an intentional slowing of the pace to enjoy lingering in the last hours of family time we’ll never get the chance to do over. Hope you all had a great holiday season and are approaching the new year rested and focused on whatever matters most to you. Cheers to a new year of flowers and friendship! And here’s to relaxing a bit more in 2018…
