Dressed in a red suit, Popupflorist owner Kelsie Hayes sits on a window seat in her NYC flower shop surrounded by potted plants

Today we’re visiting with Kelsie Hayes, owner of Popupflorist in New York City.

Kelsie brought her mastery of performance-under-pressure and quick-turn-around-times with her when she left the world of fashion design and opened Popupflorist.

From her start as a tiny coffee shop popup to securing two locations of her own in NYC, Kelsie’s passion for her business continues to fuel the pursuit of one milestone after another. She’s adamant that “If you want to do something, you need to entrench yourself in it”. Her story definitely validates her advice!

Join us as we talk with Kelsie about:

  • Overcoming the fear of starting and financing a new business idea
  • Learning the basics of business startup
  • Testing the popup concept
  • The importance of packaging at a popup
  • Bringing the skill of fashion buying to a flower shop
  • The power of asking questions
  • Building a team
  • Becoming a mother while running a business
  • Outsourcing the logistics of an online business
  • Putting systems in place to allow time away from the business
